Alisyn Poli, BSN, RN

I commend Ali Poli for always going above and beyond when caring for her patients. One week in particular stands out when I worked alongside Ali, and she cared for a patient who was confused for multiple days. Ali was patient, kind, understanding, and forgiving when her patient was having a difficult time being in the hospital. Ali found ways to keep her patient's spirits up, such as finding crossword puzzles, playing tic-tac-toe, and watching college basketball with him. She even rolled him around the unit in a wheelchair, so he could get a change of scenery.

Ali found that the only family he has is his elderly mother, who is unable to drive, so she dedicated most of her day to hanging out with him so he wouldn't have to be alone. Ali consistently advocates for her patients no matter how big or small the task. She is the epitome of nursing and reminds us all of the most important aspect of our job-to be compassionate no matter the situation.
