My brother is a BKA, was admitted through ED, and stayed 24 hours before a bed became available in the cardiac hospital. Aliya was so attentive to every detail; his Hgb was 6.1, and he was NPO. She was kind when he was begging for food or more water/ice. She was exceptional in her care regarding fluid restriction, constantly checking as his BP was dropping, and keeping norepinephrine titrated appropriately. His supper tray was left out of the delivery. She walked to the cafeteria to get his tray, which consisted only of beef broth and Jell-O, while caring for three other patients. As busy as she was, she was personable, caring, and so kind to my brother.
