I regularly receive medical infusions at the Mayo Clinic Phoenix Campus in the third building. When I went to my infusion, I was greeted by my nurse, Aliyah, with a smile. I informed her I was feeling down that day as my cat had just passed away the day prior. She was beyond caring and went above and beyond during the few hours I was at the Ambulatory Infusion Center. I have been receiving my infusion for a few years now, and Aliyah is the first nurse to genuinely make me feel special and safe. She kept checking up on me every fifteen minutes or so, and she also ensured the IV that was placed by the ultrasound nurse was okay after I had mentioned the area it was placed in was tender and started to hurt. She made sure to grab some warm blankets, a warm pack, and a cold Sprite to help the discomfort I had. At the end of my infusion, as I was getting ready to leave, she told me to hold on a second as she went to grab something. She returned with a card for me regarding the loss of my cat. She had a few of the other nurses write in it as well. Even though she was busy, she still went out of her way to make me feel special. It was beyond thoughtful, and I will always be extremely grateful. She definitely has made a lasting impression on me, and I will never forget what she did for me. Thank you, Aliyah!
