November 2022 Honoree
Aljean Flores, BSN
Aljean exemplified being a team player. During the height of RSV season, she gladly floated to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit from her more familiar NICU home. She accepted responsibility for what ended up being the most unstable kiddo in our unit. She remained poised and competent in an unfamiliar setting and ensured the patient's stability. Through the busyness, she remained optimistic and friendly with the staff and left a lasting impact on the PICU staff and the patient's family. She managed to share compassionate time with the mother who was anxious and not easily consoled. Aljean's touch and energy calmed the room. She represented nursing and the NICU well that day by being a flexible and compassionate team player!
Thank you, Aljean, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
