8 days ago I was brought here to the hospital by ambulance for a bad internal bleed caused by an ulcer. After an emergency endoscopy, an emergency embolization, and 5 blood transfusions I get to go home and be with my family in time for Thanksgiving. After the endoscopy, I was brought here to the 5th-floor telemetry unit and Allan Maula was my nurse. The endoscopy failed to stop the bleed and I almost died. Allan and the team acted swiftly and smartly and saved my life. ALLAN IS MY HERO!
Once I was back on my feet taking a walk, Allan saw me and came to me with tears in his eyes and told me how happy he was to see me up and walking because I have given him such a scare, "because you're such a good person," he said; and we both cried. Allan is not only a great nurse but also a beautiful person. My hero.
