Allison Atnip is an incredible nurse. Allison cares deeply about her patients and coworkers. I often fill the role of daytime charge nurse which carries the duty of making the evening assignment. Allison never complains about her section or her patient load. As a day shifter, I do not directly work with Allison that often, however, I feel her effects daily.
One of my responsibilities is to round on the patients on the floor and see how their stay has been up to that point. Allison constantly receives adoring praise and compliments from her patients and their families. This nomination is not for one outstanding moment or one exceptional act of kindness. On the contrary, this nomination is what I believe the DAISY Award is about: consistency.
Allison is consistently kind, consistently professional, consistently warmhearted, and consistently excellent. It is rare to find a nurse so loved by all while also so clinically excellent. Allison is dedicated to the nursing profession, her service to her patients, and her warmth toward staff.
