After open-heart surgery and I was finally moved to step down care, my pain was still not in check. When Allison checked in and became my nurse for the day, she set in motion to get my pain under control. She studied my chart from the days prior, talked with me about my concerns, and put a plan in motion to help me reach my goal to go home. She continually listened to my concerns, answered all my questions, and went the extra mile to make me feel like my concerns as a 15-year-old patient mattered. I will be able to go home tomorrow because she helped me reach the goals that the doctors put into place for me. I am forever grateful that she took the extra time to make me successful in my recovery.
