I am new to the role of Patient Care Assistant. A patient came into the ED whose heart had stopped and was receiving CPR from the EMs. I have never done CPR before, and I was nervous to take over. Allison made me feel safe, reassured, and confident in my actions and the movement of my hands during the code. She made me feel valued and part of the team. Allison was concerned with not only the patient and her family but also with how I was doing. She had confidence in me and I was able to have confidence in myself and my actions during a code.
