Last night Allison was throughput coordinator during a busy Sunday in the Emergency Room. A patient came in with her service dog and ended up being admitted to the hospital. Prior to admission, it was seen by the staff that the patient's dog had fleas. Rather than ignoring this, Allison stepped up and took it upon herself to bathe the dog to avoid exposure for other patients/staff and to help the patient in a task she was unable to perform due to her medical condition.
In this task, Allison displayed the BayCare Health System values of trust, dignity, respect, responsibility, and excellence by providing care for the patient in this situation. This is one small example of Allison going above and beyond for her patients and coworkers, she is a great example of what nurses (and all employees) within BayCare should strive for every day.
