I want to first say that the entire nursing staff here at AdventHealth Alt has been excellent. We, unfortunately, have been in major surgery situations in hospitals across the country as my father has been battling different cancers for almost 20 years. We have never experienced such amazing care as we have here. One caregiver has stood out with her ability not just to provide physical care but mental and emotional care to my father and our family. Allison has never made us feel like we are burdens as we try to get answers, understanding, and assistance for our father and ourselves throughout my father’s stay. Allison has brought a heightened spirit and sometimes a smile to my father even when we could tell he appears defeated and beaten. And Allison seemed to be willing and able to do it again and again, even when my father would forget her previous visits. I know nursing is not an easy job and can be so challenging. However, Allison is just skilled at hiding that reality for the sake of her patients. She has figured out that it’s not just the physical medical care but the care for a person’s spirit, emotions, and renewed drive for life that must be treated. I want to recognize Allison and thank her for helping to renew my father’s fighting spirit.
