Allison was recognized by a co-worker for being the epitome of a "patient advocate," and always going above and beyond to accommodate others. Recently, the wife of one of her patients who was scheduled for major surgery planned to stay overnight at a local hotel to remain near her husband. Surprised by the hotel expense, Allison took the initiative to call the manager at the hotel and explained the situation asking him to consider a discount. He agreed, which eased the financial burden for this family. Thrilled and surprised, the patient and his wife appreciated her act of kindness. For those who work alongside Allison, it just one example of her character and the acts of kindness she displays every day for every person she encounters.
