March 2026 Honoree
Allison Kendra, MSN, RN
It is my great pleasure to nominate Allison Kendra for the DAISY Nurse Leadership Award. Allison has demonstrated each and every quality of a DAISY Nurse Leader. I have had the honor of serving as her managing director for the past six years and have seen her significant growth as a nurse and leader at Pentec. Allison set herself apart as a competent and considerate nurse, often presenting new, innovative ideas to increase efficiency within her region.
As a preceptor and mentor, Allison excelled at enculturating new nurses to Pentec, creating bonds she still shares with many. As a leader, Allison has made great strides to build an inclusive, collaborative team that values quality patient care. She is compassionate and leads by example- taking on the hardest tasks, making tough decisions, while empowering others to perform at their best. She has navigated incredibly difficult scenarios with one of the toughest accounts at Pentec- dealing with stat onboarding, difficulty in communication with the account, and several unforeseen upsets- over the past several years, and she continues to do so with an ever-present positivity and enthusiasm.
Where most would crumble under the pressure, Allison has excelled. She created a team bonding activity where nurses present a “Behind the Mask” account of their lives- sharing personal anecdotes, family pictures- anything they would like- which aids in camaraderie and fuels connection amongst her nurses. I cannot stress enough how much Allison embodies the traits of a DAISY Nurse Leader. I am proud to know Allison and honored to nominate her.
