Allie's calmness, poise, professionalism, and empathy helped so much in such a difficult and scary situation.
In September, my daughter was involved in a car accident with some of her friends. She was taken to the hospital by me, her mom, via private transportation. I also had my youngest daughter with me, who was terrified for the safety of her sister. My youngest daughter has Autism and gets very anxious. Allie Klein was at work that evening and knew we were waiting patiently to be seen, but she was busy doing her thing with the other teenager who had worse injuries.
Allie is aware of my youngest daughter’s struggles with being in a hospital as well as my daughter, who was just in a car accident after losing her dad in a car accident 2 months prior. My daughters both know Allie and her presence, which alone makes them feel safe. Allie’s day shift had already ended, but she was still determined to make sure everyone was safe. She stopped in our exam room to check on us. My girls felt instant relief and calmness knowing Allie was there but could have easily slipped out after her shift was over. Her calmness, poise, professionalism, and empathy helped so much in such a difficult and scary situation.
Allie is an inspiration and a true role model. She is the definition of all for one and one for all. She made sure we were as comfortable and content as possible, given everything we were going through. She is one of a kind. I pray nothing like this happens again, but if it does, we find comfort in knowing that Allie might happen to be there again. She did not make us feel like an inconvenience because her shift was over but showed true concern about any questions and/or concerns that we had in case something was missed. She did not have to check in on us, but she did, and we will never forget it. Her ability to not only make sure that my daughter, who was in the accident, was okay and didn’t need anything at the moment but comprehension of how this was affecting my daughter with Autism based on her own personal experience with Autism melted my heart.
