...I was over 40 weeks pregnant and being induced. I came into the hospital during the day and by night, I was only dilated to 1 cm, but had major contractions. I decided to get an epidural. Alli was with me the entire time; she was also helping hands for the procedure. Finally I was able to relax and try to get some sleep. But sleep wasn't possible. My nurse came in a few hours later to check on me and talked to me about my baby showing signs of distress. For the rest of the night, she kept me up to date with what was going on, she closely monitored me, talked to the doctor and kept us informed. About 4am I needed to go for an emergency C-section. Everything was chaotic all of the sudden, people were rushing around. I was so scared and overwhelmed. I knew all this was for me and the baby but it was frightening.

Alli was amazing. My whole plan of a vaginal childbirth was out the window. I was terrified that my baby wouldn't be ok. Alli sat with me, consoled me and supported me. She helped calm me down as much as I could be. She took care of me so amazingly all night and through my scary, nerve racking C-section. She was and still is so important to me for caring for me and my son. She continued to be there for us during my stay. I was in the hospital for 5 days and was lucky to have her as my nurse a few times, she was always amazing. From helping me with pain to acting fast for a safe delivery, to teaching me what I needed to care for my son. She will always be special to our family.
