Allison was by her side the whole time holding her hand, comforting her, and wanting to learn more from the anesthesiologist.
My 83-year-old mother was hospitalized for 3 weeks with complications from a bleeding ulcer. She was in ICU just prior to and following her emergency gastric surgery. Overall, her care at LPH has been excellent, however, one ICU nurse was exceptional. Her name is Allison.
When I arrived at the hospital, Allison immediately introduced herself, explained all that was going on and really made me feel more at ease. It was a relief to see that my mother was in such good care. Not only does Allison do her job well, but she also displays a genuine love for her job and true caring for her patients.
One thing that really stood out for me is how she recognized that my mom is hard of hearing and couldn't have her hearing aids in. Every time she spoke to Mom, Allison would lean over her bed and talk close to her ear. This small act made a world of difference. When mom was getting an epidural for her pain, Allison was by her side the whole time holding her hand, comforting her, and wanting to learn more from the anesthesiologist.
Allison is friendly, kind, and compassionate. She really knows her job and does it so well. She is a true asset to the nursing staff at LPH and deserves to be recognized!
