One evening I told my wife to go home and take a break. Our daughter was spending her first of three nights with RSV viral infection in the pediatric unit. Her breathing got worse during the course of the night. Allison provided amazing care through the night. But one particular thing stands out. At one point in the middle of the night I lost hope she would fall asleep, so I told Allison I would just stay with her. Allison pretty much ignored me (I say that in a good way!) She held Our daughter for probably 30 minutes until she fell into a deep sleep and then put her into bed to get much-needed sleep. I too fell asleep on the cot.
