May 2026 Honoree
Allison Nelson, RN, BSN
My labor was intense, fast, and completely unmedicated, something I was not mentally prepared for. I felt out of control and scared, and at times, I truly didn’t believe I could do it. In the middle of that chaos, Allison became my anchor.
She was the main voice I listened to. When everything felt overwhelming, her words grounded me and reminded me of what I needed to do for my baby. She guided me with strength, reassurance, and an unwavering belief in me, often when I had none left for myself. Her calm, steady encouragement carried me through moments I didn’t think I could survive.
Allison created an environment that was safe, supportive, and completely nonjudgmental. I felt respected, heard, and cared for in a way that left a lasting impact on me. Because of her, one of the most vulnerable moments of my life also became one of the most empowering.
I truly wish I had been able to deliver all of my babies with care like this. Allison exemplifies compassion, excellence, and what it truly means to be a nurse.
Thank you so much.
