Because of Allison, our team feels valued, supported, and inspired to provide the very best care every day.
To our team, Allison is so much more than a manager—she is a constant presence, a trusted leader, and someone who truly believes in each of us.

From the moment you join our unit, you feel the difference in Allison’s leadership. She creates an environment where every voice matters. She listens with intention, values our ideas, and makes us feel seen—not just as nurses, but as individuals. Because of her, we feel safe speaking up, sharing concerns, and contributing to the growth of our unit. Her leadership has also created a work environment where people genuinely want to stay. Our unit has experienced minimal turnover, a reflection of the engagement, support, and sense of belonging she fosters within our team. Staff feel valued, motivated, and proud to be part of something meaningful under her leadership.

One of the most meaningful ways Allison has impacted our team is through her unwavering support of our professional growth. She didn’t just encourage certification—she led the way by becoming certified herself, setting the standard for clinical excellence. She believed in us even when we doubted ourselves. She shared study resources, helped organize study groups, and continuously motivated us to succeed. She celebrated every milestone with us. Because of her dedication, our unit achieved a high certification rate and was recognized during Magnet re-designation—an accomplishment that reflects her vision and belief in her team.

Allison is also the kind of leader who shows up when it matters most. During difficult clinical situations—whether it’s a challenging case, weekend call, or after-hours needs—she is often the first to step in. She brings calm, support, and solutions. She not only ensures our patients are cared for efficiently by collaborating with other leaders to improve patient flow and bed placement, but she also checks on us, making sure we are supported during those high-stress moments. Her presence alone brings reassurance.

She has a unique ability to see the strengths in others, sometimes before we even see them in ourselves. I’ve watched her recognize a team member’s passion for education and turn it into an opportunity for them to lead presentations and share their knowledge with others. Under her leadership, our team felt empowered to take ownership of a Magnet project that was ultimately recognized as a Magnet story. This work led to a significant improvement in patient outcomes related to post-operative urinary retention (P.O.U.R.), showing how her ability to uplift others directly impacts the care we provide.

Allison leads with purpose, compassion, and authenticity. She is constantly looking for ways to improve—whether it’s workflows, patient outcomes, or team development—and she does so with a genuine commitment to excellence. She embodies the values of Memorial Hermann in everything she does.

Because of Allison, our team feels valued, supported, and inspired to provide the very best care every day. Her leadership fosters a culture of engagement and pride, which is reflected in how actively our team participates in unit and hospital-wide events, embraces opportunities for continued learning, and strives to set the gold standard in patient care. She is the kind of leader who leaves a lasting impact—not only on our practice, but on who we are as nurses.
