Emotionally, she has been available to us, professionally and medically, even more so.
Ally came into our lives at a very difficult time, when my husband was very sick and my mind was full of details that seemed to multiply by the hour/day. She has been a source of constant support, advice, guidance, comfort, and an ear to listen - you name it. She's been that for us. Emotionally, she has been available to us, professionally and medically, even more so. She is one of three nurses I instantly "trust" when I see she is on the floor and assigned to us. From a teaching/coaching perspective, Ally has really taken the time to educate us on the things we will need to manage once we/he are/is discharged --things like his insulin ( since he is diabetic since he arrived) his lung drain cleaning, draining & maintenance, his breathing exercises, all around general health. She has been a source of constant knowledge, support, etc....we were talking the other day and I was speaking in generalities about the nursing profession, and in the nicest way possible. She explained to me that her position (oncology nurse) is specialized, and it shows 1000% percent.
