Ally was special to us for her friendly personality, knowledge, skill, and leadership. When Ally walked into our room, she did not rush in/out. She took time to get to know us and listened too. She had other patients, but we felt like we were the only ones. Ally answered our ‘many’ questions with confidence and explained well the steps along our open-heart surgery path. Recovery had been going as planned until his heart went into A fib and Ally was there knowing what to do and helped calm our fears. When we could finally be discharged, she explained everything simply and we felt prepared. Ally had a UA nursing student shadowing her. We observed how she took a genuine interest in leading her, giving her opportunities to practice and learn. For these reasons and more, Ally is an Extraordinary Nurse. She certainly made a difference in our lives and our experience in CSICU. P.S. All the staff who cared for my husband were professional and provided outstanding care.
