I would like to nominate Allysha for going above and beyond in caring for a patient who was not assigned to her. While the patient’s primary nurse was busy, Allysha took the time to check up on a patient who was visibly upset and crying. Without hesitation, she stepped in and spoke to her with compassion and calmness, and the patient quickly became more at ease. Her presence and comforting words made a world of difference in that moment. Seeing that the patient’s assigned nurse was busy, she appeared to help lighten the load and ensure the patient continued to receive the care and attention that she needed. Her actions reflect true teamwork, empathy, and the heart of nursing.

Allysha is a positive team member who always shows up with a positive attitude. Even when faced with challenging patients, she remains calm and promotes positivity that calms team members and patients alike. Allysha helped me with a difficult patient who would not take her meds for me. Allysha, with her lovely attitude, was able to calm the patient enough for the patient to participate in her care. Allysha’s calmness and positivity are infectious and a benefit to this unit.
