Allyson had worked all night and she still stopped to provide kindness when it was needed most.
My six-year-old grandson was involved in a car accident. The accident occurred in close proximity to Children's of Alabama (COA). My grandson's stepfather sustained injuries that were serious but not life-threatening. My grandson sustained some superficial wounds to his neck and leg. The jolt of the accident left my grandson scared and crying. Allyson was passing by as she left her shift at COA and saw my grandson crying. First responders had not arrived yet so Allyson stopped to assess the situation. When she saw there were no life-threatening injuries she went to my grandson, calmed him, reassured him, and stayed with him until the paramedics arrived. His step-father had to be transported to the hospital and my grandson did as well.

Allyson informed him that she could not ride in the ambulance but she would meet them at the hospital so he would not be alone and she did just that. She remained with him until his father (my son) could arrive. My son had me on speaker phone when he arrived. Allyson validated who he was (the biological dad) and when she heard my grandson talking to me she asked who I was. He said "my nanna". I introduced myself to her and thanked her for being there for my grandson. I offered to repay her kindness in many ways and she replied that she has a young son and she would want someone to care for him if he were in this same situation. She had worked all night and she still stopped to provide kindness when it was needed most. I want you to know how appreciative I am of this lady for taking the time to calm my grandson and remain with him so he was not alone. Allyson was my grandson's guardian angel that day and I am truly grateful.
