There are moments in life you never forget, and bringing our baby into the world is one of them. What made those first days even more special was having a nurse who cared for us like family. The impact Allyssa had on our family and our transition into parenthood is something we will carry with us forever.

As a brand-new mom, I was emotional, overwhelmed, exhausted, and unsure of myself at times, especially when it came to breastfeeding. She never once made me feel judged, pressured, or inadequate. Instead, she met me with patience, reassurance, and compassion every single time she walked into our room. She sat with me through feeds, answered every question with such kindness, and gave me every possible option and resource to help me succeed.

More than teaching me how to breastfeed, she gave me confidence in myself as a mother. She reminded me that there is no “perfect” way to navigate those first few days, only what works best for both mom and baby, and that grace meant everything to me.

What I will remember most is how safe and comfortable she made us feel. She didn’t just care for me medically; she cared for me emotionally. She made us feel calm during moments that felt scary and unfamiliar, and she celebrated our little victories with us as they mattered just as much to her.

In the middle of such a vulnerable and life-changing time, her warmth and presence brought so much peace into our room. She was more than just our nurse; she was a steady hand, a comforting voice, and a reminder that we were not alone stepping into this new chapter. I truly believe she changed our postpartum experience for the better, and I will never forget the love and compassion she showed our family.

Thank you, Allyssa, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
