I don't think she knows how much peace she brought to my mind last night.
I had an impromptu visit to the emergency room last night thanks to the new diagnosis of papilledema in both eyes. Or that is at least what my eye doctor told me before he instructed me to either go to the ER or urgent care. I showed up to urgent care and per usual they were PACKED. So, I drove down to the only other place that crossed my mind. Holy Cross. I was able to give my info and be pulled back in 10 minutes. Even though they were pretty busy. A nurse by the name of ALLY D was chosen by whatever GOD you believe in to triage me. She was an angel, a blessing in disguise. She took the paperwork that my eye DR gave me and actually read it. She then informed me that she would try and reach out to see if somewhere else had the specialist I needed. It took a while, but she made sure to check in on me and keep me updated which I appreciated since I was with my son and wife. When she finally got in contact, she rushed out to find me and sat on the phone with me and the ophthalmologist from Kaiser. She let me know we would be doing an MRI and it would take a while. So, I was able to instruct my family they could go home for the time being. I don't think she knows how much peace she brought to my mind last night. I am currently being tested for MS a disease that took the life of my mother. She calmed a storm that was about to sweep me away. Thank you, nurse Ally. You are an angel and the world needs a hospital full of people like you.
