Alycia was nominated by a patient who delivered her stillborn son. The patient wrote:
My husband and I were very anxious about our situation and who our nurse would be. Enter Alycia, one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. Her first shift with us was so comforting; she treated us with such compassion and catered to our every need. Alycia helped deliver my son and I'm not sure if there is a person in the world who has seen me in a worse state; she did is all so gracefully, like she was an old friend of ours. Alycia did whatever she could to make me comfortable. I'll never forget Alycia crying with us over the loss of our son and want her to know how much her work meant to us.
