My son is currently in the NICU, and Alyse gave me so much comfort and peace of mind when I was sad that I couldn’t be with him.
I was not having the best experience in my first 24 hours of recovery after my c-section. Alyse was assigned to be my nurse the morning after a really tough night. As soon as she walked in, her brightness and personality brought so much hope to me instantly, almost like a ray of sunshine. The entire day, she made sure to check in with me and keep me on top of my medications, which was hard to do as I had so many things going on, and I’d come back to my room to small gestures and tasks done that she did out of the kindness of her heart.
I believe she truly exhibits what the DAISY Award represents. She changed the entire recovery experience I was having, and I went from feeling discouraged and left in the dark to hopeful and ready to continue to recover and get back to some normalcy. There are not enough words to say all of the amazing things that she did for me in the few days she was my nurse. I can’t begin to say enough how thankful I am that she was my nurse. I will never forget her for the rest of my life, as she will always be a vital part of my journey of having my first baby. I would come back to this hospital again for my second baby just because of her. She truly is an angel on earth who has so much compassion for what she does.
