I was under the care of nurse Alyse Reineke. The English language does not have words for the care and compassion she displayed. She made me feel like I was the only person on the floor.

I had a very dear friend in the oncology unit. When my two nieces visited, somehow, someway, with two chest tubes and an IV pole, Alyse made sure we got to go visit him.

Walking was a big part of the doctor's orders. Every time I wanted to get out of bed and walk, Alyse was there to help me. She was always on time with my medications.

I do not have words to describe the way she made me feel as a person. Compassion does not even begin to describe how great she made me feel. She always had time to talk to me about everything and encourage me to push myself to get better. I cannot tell you how much she means as a person and humanitarian. She was the constant professional. She made my experience ever so tolerable, even with all the extra equipment we had to drag around.
