Alysha Frost, RN

Alysha Frost has been an amazing nurse to my mother, and as a fellow nurse, I wanted to write about my mom’s stay. My mom has been diagnosed with cancer since 2025. Most nurses didn’t realize that her cancer was in her pancreas but had metastasized to her liver and bones. Her pain was real. I was so worried about my mother being admitted, but Alysha has changed our whole view and outlook. She is compassionate, understanding, and an amazing listener. She embodies what a nurse is, and you can tell she loves what she does. As a fellow RN, I know firsthand how caring for patients can burn you out. The nursing field is a hard job, but you would never know if Alysha had any problems going on because she’s smiling, compassionate, and kind.

I came to visit my mom, and Alysha was doing a med pass. She already pulled her afternoon medications, and she asked my mom how her pain was. When she realized she was hurting, she didn’t get upset and went to get medications. She kindly excused herself and brought back her pain meds, then finished giving her the other medications. I feel safe leaving my mother in her care, and that in itself is the best thing a family member could ask for. St Mary’s Russellville should be proud. A nurse like her is an asset to this hospital and can totally change a person’s views and image of the hospital.

When I think about the ideal nurse, Alysha is it. She is a compassionate, caring, kind young woman. I was diagnosed with cancer in 2025, and I've been in and out of the hospital (various stays and even had a stay at Baptist in LR). I was nervous, but Alysha changed my whole stay and view. A few things that have made it better: Alysha listens and cares. I told her I had a sore throat in passing, and she came back with hot tea without me even asking. I have cancer that has metastasized to my bones, and sometimes I'm afraid to ask for pain medication. Alysha was always asking about my pain levels and made sure I was comfortable.

Another thing is she won't leave the room until she knows I'm ok and comfortable. She is so smart and explains my medications, my plan of care, etc. She's even checked on my family. When she's at work, she's at work; she doesn't bring her problems or what's going on into her job. She is the ideal nurse and represents Saint Mary's well. I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but I won't ever forget Alysha and her wonderful care.
