Let me tell you about this unique nurse. This nurse made me feel human and took the time to educate me on things I didn’t understand. I was constantly feeling tired and nodding off. Doctors and other staff believed I was doing drugs and having family bring them in. Alysha was the only person who took the time to listen and figure out what was wrong instead of assuming bad things. She put oxygen on me after finding that my oxygen levels were low. She explained how important it is to keep my oxygen at a normal level. After a few hours, to my surprise, I didn’t feel sleepy or depressed. I felt brand new.

She also helped me figure out why my sugars were always high. She made sure to get my food orders corrected because I am diabetic. She called the kitchen for me, made sure my tray matched my food order, and only gave me insulin for the food I ate. My sugars went from over 280 to the low 100’s and I feel so much better. Alysha didn’t even know me but never judged me based on my history. She helped me be a better patient, focus on healing, taught me, and treated me like a human being.
