Alysia took care of a trauma patient who was somewhat altered and unable to report much in the way of physical complaints. Alysia found a new flank ecchymosis and appropriately recognized this as an important new finding and notified the trauma team. This proved to be a life threatening retroperitoneal hematoma. The patient was transfused and disaster averted! Strong work Alysia!
