January 2023 Honoree
Alyson Cook, RN
My dad tore open his very thin skin elbow on vacation. Being on Eliquis led to a very messy cleanup. His bandages were changed 1x and gauze was applied with a bandage pad covering. I was unaware of the gauze and when we went to change it his wound began to mend around the gauze. I placed a message/call to his PCP and Alyson and she called back and eagerly said “Bring him in I can take care of that no problem!” That we did and after a 20-minute soak and gingerly tugging she got it off with minimal bleeding! We were so relieved but mostly grateful for her willingness.
Thank you, Alyson, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
