We want to nominate nurse Alyson, who cared for our baby girl in the Rex NICU the night she was born. That night was overwhelming, emotional, and frightening for us as new parents, but Alyson’s calm presence and compassionate care made all the difference. She guided the grandparents and us through those first uncertain hours with patience and reassurance, not only tending to our baby with such skill, but also giving us the comfort and strength we desperately needed. Her kindness turned a night of fear into one of hope, and we will forever remember the impact she had on our family’s first moments together. We are deeply grateful for her gentle heart, her steady confidence, and the way she made us feel seen and supported during such a vulnerable time, and throughout our baby girl's 38-day stay in the NICU.
