I brought my fiancé to the ED with what we were afraid was a stroke. He had facial paralysis on one side, and I was scared to death. This nurse brought us straight in and got straight to work, diligently taking care of him, all the while dealing with me, who was having an anxiety attack and asking a lot of questions. She calmed me so easily without ever missing a beat with his care. I informed her that we were recovering addicts and had not used in 10 and a half years. What she said next and the way she said it is what stands out more than anything, even compared to all other great nurses. She said it would not matter even if you were, it would never change the way I treat you, you are a human being and that what matters. She said I believe in addicts and their recovery. They can be successful, and no human being is better than another. I could go on forever about her, but just to put it simply - she was amazing and stood out above all other nurses and doctors. I am forever grateful, and my fiancé feels the same way.
