November 2018 Honoree
alyssa eckert, RN, BSN, CCRN
My husband was admitted to the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit with a 50/50 chance of living. He had heart and kidney failure due to diabetic ketoacidosis. Alyssa was the nurse hooking him up to so many IVs and tubes and working so hard and against the clock to keep him alive and comfortable. She was so kind and hugged me and told me miracles happen - hold onto faith!
The ICU nurses and sitters worked for about ten days around the clock to comfort him and take care of him. Alyssa explained things and comforted me when I had questions, with a smile on her face. She was one of two outstanding nurses around the clock who kept him alive. They were wonderful and so helpful, day and night going above and beyond. They kept him alive with all of their tender care and concern! Thanks to all of them.

Thank you, Alyssa, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
