During my stay at Virtua Hospital, Alyssa Gubbei was my nurse. Her overall attentiveness and compassionate care were beyond measurable. She was the utmost professional, always pleasant, and as busy as she was she always took the time to make sure I was well taken care of. During my stay at the hospital, there was a lack of communication with my doctor. I felt extremely frustrated with the situation and I felt I had no way to contact them about my care. Alyssa saw how distressed I was and went above and beyond by sending messages and eventually at 5:30 pm getting the doctor on the phone. Her actions helped me get the situation resolved, resulting in better care. We learned that Alyssa was 24 years old. It was hard to believe because she conducted herself as if she was a 10-year veteran. My wife and I could never truly express how grateful we are to her for her amazing care, compassion, and professionalism. Alyssa is a credit to the nursing profession and Virtua Hospital. People like her are a rare find.
