February 2019 Honoree
alyssa kauffman, BSN, RNC
I had to have a D&C after finding out I had lost my baby. I experienced some complications during the procedure and was held overnight to recover. Throughout the night, and into the early hours of the morning, Alyssa was by my side, taking care of me, during the worst night of my life. While I may not have shown it, I was emotionally destroyed, but I know she knew that. Alyssa didn't only monitor me. She made sure I had everything I needed, she sat with me, talked with me, and kept me calm during the hardest hours as I was forced to lay in a hospital bed, trying to process what I had just gone through. I believe it takes a special person to do what she did. A complete stranger provided me with more support than she will ever know, and I am forever grateful that she was the one responsible for my care. I would thank her a million times over if I could, and can only hope that we cross paths again during a time for celebration. Alyssa, from the bottom of my heart, Thank You!
Thank you, Alyssa, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
