December 2025 Honoree
Alyssa Rodgers, RN, BSN
This nurse is compassionate and resourceful. She took care of a homeless patient. As she cared for his physical needs, she quietly began tending to the deeper ones, the uncertainty beyond discharge.
Between medication rounds and charting, she made calls to local shelters, housing units, coordinated with social services, and gathered essential supplies, warm clothes, hygiene products, hotels, and a list of community resources.
Her efforts went beyond clinical care; they were acts of humanity. When he was ready to leave, he had not only recovered but also had a safe place to go thanks to her unwavering belief that healing must include dignity, shelter, and hope.
