As a physician and a member of the Wound Care Team, I have the opportunity to work with many nursing professionals. However, sometimes we encounter one who stands out. Alyssa is one of those. I have found her attitude and skills to be outstanding. Her enthusiasm while performing her job is commendable and deserves appreciation.
Alyssa is one of the friendliest people I know and she always arrives with a smile on her face and a happy greeting. One of the days, during our routine wound care rounds in the unit where Alyssa works, we found the unit extremely busy and no one in the nurse's stations. Suddenly, Alyssa arrived from one of the patient's room and she looked exhausted. With a list of patients to consult, we requested help from her and despite how busy she was and none of the patients to consult were assigned to her on that day, she still assisted us to see the patients without any resistance, but with a smile instead. The family of the patients also knew she was not the assigned nurse but felt grateful for Alyssa's help and attitude. She always demonstrates great interpersonal skills and is a true patient advocate.
She is an asset to the unit and to our organization.
