I would like to recognize Alyssa for how she demonstrates consistent professionalism with all members of the healthcare team. Alyssa makes a difference when she serves 5 East as Charge Nurse. Alyssa has really blossomed in this role and leads the staff with enthusiasm and competency. During morning unit huddles, she shares uplifting and positivity to get our shift started off right. In addition, she supports the unit leadership in making decisions and disseminating information to the staff which is most imperative during this time of COVID-19.
Alyssa recently assisted a new nurse with a very difficult patient. Alyssa showed her how to access policy and procedures; assisted with phoning the MD and also supported the nurse by going into the room and explaining the situation with the patient. The nurse was extremely thankful and appreciative. Alyssa was very professional and maintained her composure even though the patient was not reciprocating the kindness. She is an example of a consistent advocate for our patients and staff. She has transformed into an awesome leader.
