July 2019 Honoree
amanda baliles, RN
I was admitted to L & D unit on the day of the strike when most of the nurses in the hospital left. Amanda was my nurse during my stay and she chose not to go on strike. This was my 1st child and I was extremely nervous about the whole process of delivery. In addition to that, knowing most of the hospital staff went on strike made my anxiety worse. I truly appreciated everything Amanda did for me. She stayed with me the whole time I was in active labor and made sure I felt safe and taken care of. As a resident we work with nurses all the time, however, it was my first interaction with a nurse as a patient. I was very impressed by how compassionate Amanda is and I truly believe she is a wonderful asset to this hospital.
Thank you, Amanda, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
