She hugged me while I cried and held my hand, and honestly, it was due to that experience that we chose to deliver at Women's again.
Amanda was one of our nurses when we experienced the 20-week loss of our baby boy. Since that experience, she has never left my heart or my mind, and I couldn't recall her last name. She spent so much time with our family, sitting and listening, providing comfort and grace during the worst experience of our lives. She helped us through the process of everything we needed to do - things you never think of, such as cremation, how to talk to siblings at home, the significance of the name we chose...you name it. I remember stopping to ask her if she had other patients because we always felt as though we were her #1 priority. She hugged me while I cried and held my hand, and honestly, it was due to that experience that we chose to deliver at Women's again. Imagine my surprise when today, she is assigned to me as my nurse during monitoring in high-risk OB. She remembered me....and it brought tears to my eyes and took my breath away.
