November 2024 Honoree
Amanda Brill, MSN, RN
From the moment I met Amanda, she made me feel like family. I was in excruciating pain, and she was there 24/7 for my pain needs, not even leaving my side when I needed someone to talk to. She pulled her chair right up and made me feel like a human being. With sickle cell disease, you're judged a lot as a drug seeker because we need prescription pain meds to treat chronic pain. Amanda made me feel comfortable; she even made me laugh through the pain. I usually have a hard time getting an IV placed in because I have tiny veins; Amanda got my veins 1, 2, and 3. She is truly an asset anywhere she works. I will always be very thankful and grateful for Nurse Amanda. No judgments from Amanda; she showed me dignity and respect.
Thank you, Amanda, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
