My Dad and I arrived at the Short Pump Emergency Center. I was met by Amanda, a nurse who was empathetic, kind, and humorous when I needed it. As the numbers for my blood pressure continue to get higher, I was getting more nervous. We have a history of stroke in my family and Amanda is the reason I didn’t feel scared.

I have had amazing nurses in the past, but I have never had one that I’ve completed a nomination letter at 12:26 am, after leaving the hospital. She was that amazing.

Thank you for listening to my dad’s endless “dad jokes” and keeping me calm. You are amazing and you deserve this award!
