Amanda Burrows, BSN, RN

Amanda Burrows is one of the most compassionate nurses I have worked with at UK. She delivers skillful and thoughtful care. For instance, we had a very young patient on the unit with a newly diagnosed leukemia. He was admitted on a Thursday and was scheduled for high school graduation the following day/weekend. The patient was admitted to our unit and had to miss his graduation. Amanda coordinated a graduation "ceremony" with a certificate, found a cap and gown, and gave a graduation speech for the patient. His friends were watching on Facebook live, and because of Amanda's effort, he did not miss the experience of being handed a "diploma certificate." He was able to watch his actual graduation later that night on FaceTime.
