Because of Amanda, we were able to keep the patient here at TC-NL and avoid an unnecessary transfer.
Amanda has been recognized several times for going above and beyond to do what is right for our patients. We feel that extraordinary caring is just part of who Amanda is. Here are her stories:
Recently, I met a family struggling with the services that ThedaCare had been providing for them. C is a two-year-old sweet boy that has recently received an organ transplant. Mom (K) also has another older son that is a transplant patient as well. I think it goes without saying that this family has a lot on their plate and has had their share of struggles. K spoke of being scheduled at multiple locations and being turned away for service. I called K and listened to her story.
During the course of our conversation, I learned that they lived in New London. C's mom was concerned about having his picc/port flushed. The family had been traveling to the valley to have this done. I called Amanda Neuman in TCNL's Outpatient Treatment/Wound Center. I explained the family's dilemma and without hesitation, Amanda offered to help. She personally called K to schedule C's procedure and has offered to come in early (before normal business hours) to care for him. I was so touched by Amanda's "no problem" and " absolutely" attitude. I share am sharing this patient experience with New London Leadership to recognize the fantastic and caring group of colleagues they have on board. The community in New London is truly blessed to folks like Amanda providing care in their time of need.

Amanda was contacted at home by our inpatient staff on questions on how to upload pictures to EPIC. Infectious Disease wanted pictures uploaded because they weren't sure if the patient should be transferred to TCA or not. Inpatient staff did not have access to the cameras and to upload, so Amanda drove into work to take pictures of the patient's wounds. Because of Amanda, we were able to keep the patient here at TC-NL and avoid an unnecessary transfer.

I just wanted to reach out to you to let you know about something Amanda Neuman did recently that I was very impressed with. I know a woman who had come to New London for some outpatient treatment. She was having issues with her bill and had reached out to insurance and billing multiple times with no success. She was at the end of her rope when she talked to me. I gave her Amanda's email because I thought she might have some answers for this patient or at least know which direction to point her in. I also sent Amanda an email telling her that I gave this patient her email and told her a little about the patient's situation.
Amanda actually called this patient before they had the chance to send Amanda an email! The patient was absolutely blown away and so impressed. I just thought this was something you should know about.
