Amanda Cary-Bunn, RN

Amanda Cary-Bunn had a young patient who had end-stage cancer who was on the bi-pap anticipating intubation. After a discussion with the provider the patient decided to transition to comfort. The patient requested many family members to come say goodbye. Amanda contacted everyone she requested and advocated to get medications ordered to help her transition be as comfortable as possible. After the patient decided it was time to come off bi-pap and move forward with comfort measures, Amanda stayed with the patient and the family until they decided they were ready to be alone. Amanda cried with this patient and held her hand. She was kind, and according to the family, did all she could to provide holistic care. Amanda went above and beyond for this patient and deserves to be recognized for it.
