I would like to recognize Amanda (Mandi) Clark for her work ethic, passion, and professionalism.
Amanda is the anchor of our clinical service. She comes in early and stays late until the work is done.
She treats the staff professionally and does not lose her temper even in stressful situations.
She is compassionate towards the patients, tries to understand what they are going through whether it be cardiac and non-cardiac. She sees the patients as a whole, not just as a patient with cardiac issues.
She evaluates and takes care of patients in a very professional and thorough way. We, as her attending, on the clinical service trust her evaluations and plans for patients.
Her workups and notes are exemplary.
The clinical service is unique in that there is high acuity and high turnover. Amanda is efficient, thorough and incredibly well organized. She is a leader on the service.
If I were to pick one quality to define her; it would be her compassion. She is a passionate advocate for patients.
Another example was this weekend when she was working. She stayed for more than 3 extra hours to help out when one of the doctors became ill and went home. She never complained about it.
She never leaves until the work is done and the patients are taken care of.
The nurses on the floors enjoy their interactions with her and respect her judgment.
Amanda is a true DAISY Nurse and I think all my colleagues on the clinical service will agree.
