Amanda was my husband's nurse after his partial nephrectomy for two days. She was professional, efficient and kind, answering all our questions. Amanda had the next two days off while G continued his recovery.
Amanda returned and was assigned to G's care again, for which we are eternally grateful. G's epidural was removed in the night, and when Amanda started her shift, G was confused, afraid, and in a great deal of pain. Amanda spent the day assisting G to be more comfortable. In a very professional manner, she acted as a liaison with our physician, working to get the right combination of pain medication to help G find relief.
In addition, she helped reposition G to more comfortable positions, got him to focus on things besides the pain, and explained to him it was acute pain that would not last. Amanda's professional and confident manner helped us through a difficult day.
