Amanda is always taking steps to learn more and become a better nurse every day.
Amanda is an amazing leader for our department; she is always here for each and every one of us, not just as a supervisor but also as a mentor, a friend, and honestly, a family member to so many of us. Everyone is welcome with our shift, we all feel like such a close knit family and it is because of the leadership that Amanda provides to us. She always puts her employees' interests first. Whether it is birthday cakes, or celebration cookies, or even just the random thank you surprise food stuffs, she is so in tune with all of us that we could never imagine a more selfless and giving supervisor. She provides us with guidance and help in all aspects of our employment and personal lives, always reaching out to help us through any difficulties, checking in on us in times of need, and being a source of constant reassurance that it gets better.

The extraordinary example that Amanda sets for all of us to do better is unmatched. Amanda is always taking steps to learn more and become a better nurse every day. She is a consummate advocate for her patients. As a SANE nurse, she demonstrates caring and empathy to some of the most at-risk patients we see and supports them in ways most nurses could never imagine. Her drive to become better for her patients has led her down the trail to get her DNP in nursing leadership, a skill she absolutely excels in and will only become better through her training. Amanda is always searching and advocating for new ways to teach the other nurses in our department and promote an environment of inquiry and practice enhancements for both nurses and providers. She regularly promotes and plans simulation exercises during our shifts to enhance the ability of her staff to handle high-stress and low-frequency events and ensure we are prepared for anything that might walk in through the front door.
