Amanda is always one to ask, "What can I do to help?" or "Whatever you need." Over the last few months, she has cross-trained to the Pre-admissions Department in order to help them with low staffing.
One day around 4 pm, Amanda was working in Pre-Op when she answered a call from the operator in the lobby. A very anxious patient was looking for someone to answer many questions about her upcoming procedure. Pre-admissions staff were too busy at the time to answer this patient's questions. Amanda proceeded to explore how she could help. She helped both the patient and the Pre-admissions staff by bringing the patient to the Pre-Op area, completing her in-person pre-admissions interview, collected and documenting all the necessary information, and answered all the patient's questions. This patient also happened to be a nurse and proceeded to thank Amanda for everything she did, stating "You have answered all my questions, thank-you so much. I feel so much better."
Amanda went that extra step for customer satisfaction. After the interview, she went to the Pre-admissions Department to ensure the patient's record was complete so that there wouldn't be any issues on the day of her procedure. This is just one example of the kind of professional nurse and kind person she is every day.
